Mission: The mission of Forensics 101, Inc is to not only educate, but to stimulate a sense of excitement, and encourage continuous learning and achievement in science by providing high quality, hands-on forensic science opportunities through our science centers, mobile crime scene science units, and our mobile museums. Forensics 101 uses forensic science as the foundation for science enrichment in order to build confidence, competence, and interest in science for youth, teens, and adults. To provide assistance to teachers, schools, and other nonprofit organizations (such as libraries and museums) with interests in pursuing and/or developing forensic science programs. This assistance will contain but will not be limited to:
Our goal is to inspire lifelong learning and achievement in science by involving students, teachers, schools, and families with standardized, high quality science and technology learning experiences.
History: Forensics 101, Inc was established in Charlotte in 2007 as a way of introducing forensic science to the nonscientist for the advancement of science education. The company grew over the course of that year and expanded to several cities, including Washington, DC, Atlanta, and Raleigh/ Durham. While this expansion was a huge success, Executive Director Christina Brooks felt that it was more important to reach more of the local community and engage them in hands-on science through forensics. The corporation was never concerned with making a profit. Our number one concern has always been the advancement of science education for youth, teens, and adults. The corporation was converted to a nonprofit organization (what it should have always been) in January 2009 and underwent a temporary hiatus. The 'new' Forensics 101, Inc emerged in Mach 2010 better than ever.
